Rodeway Inn La Mesa

It looked scary when we drove up. The lobby was clean and the desk clerk very friendly and helpful. The vending machine/ice machine area on the outside facing the parking lot was not a positive attribute. The room was way bigger than I expected, but there were stains on the underside of the bedspread and on the pillow that I could see through the pillow case. This motel is adequate for the short leisure or business trip. It is close to the freeways, yet they are not heard. I would stay there again.

It was ok as a one night before going to the airport to fly home.

It was a good place to sleep.

I guaranteed a late check-in and was greeted wit a smoking room that they said I had reserved (I had not, I am allergic to smoke). This is the only room left. Take it or go someplace else. There were more than 200 cigarette burns in the furniture, and the TV and phone had been moved to cover some of the larger charred places. Friendly courteous staff, clean room, older building without entertainment amenities except for TV.

Basic hotel, do not expect too much but good for one quick trip or so.
